ComDel InternshipWorked as a software intern over the summer to develop a Blazor web app for managing product shipments.Project Details
Throughout the summer of 2026, I worked at ComDel Innovation in Wahpeton, North Dakota as a software development intern. The central problem I was assigned: ComDel produces a product known as PPS for 3M, the shipping process of which is managed through a deprecated VB6 app called PPS Kitting Shipments. Because this project is difficult to support and requires expensive Windows tablets to run, ComDel asked me to develop a web-based version of PPS Kitting Shipments using Blazor. The development process had me work mostly independently, but I was still mentored by the Software Engineers on site who had already provided a template for the project consisting of the bare client and server apps. Heading into deployment, I worked alongside floor workers to better integrate the app's functions into their specific workflow. By the time I left, the new version of PPS Kitting Shipments was deployed and I was able to focus on another project consisting of a company intranet webpage that built raw SQL queries based on user filters to allow employees to track various production lines.
